2024 SPARC 22LR Series

The Speed, Practical, Accuracy, Rimfire Championship is a multi round 22lr field series organised by GPRE, TLRS and The Gun Rack. The series is intended to test competitors skill across a series of field style events, across the North Island.

To compete for the overall championship you will need to compete in a minimum of two events before the final and then the final itself (all in the same class).

Competitors points will be added up over the three rounds they compete in and the competitor with the most points after the final will take the overall win in the championship. If you compete in more than two rounds of the series before the final then only your two best results will count towards your final score. Competitors must shoot the final if they intend to have a go at the championship.

All results and series standings will be available here on this website for competitors to view.

At each event there will be two classes for competitors to choose from Hunter and Rifleman.

Hunter Class is intended for hunting style 22lrs without target style features and is a great class for new (to the sport) shooters wanting to try the sport without having to build an expensive setup. We will allow new shooters to compete in this class with rifles that do not meet the class rules but they will be non competitive and should consider it a development class. See Hunter class rules below.

Rifleman Class is for shooters with more experience and has a significantly harder course of fire than hunter and the target distances are out to approximately 200 meters. See rifleman class rules below.

Hunter class rifle and equipment rules:

H1) The competitor must only use a rifle and equipment that meets the spirit of a hunter class event - i.e. a basic hunting 22LR setup.

H2) The rifle shall not weigh more than 4.0kg (~9lbs) including, any muzzle device (suppressor or brake), the bipod, and the magazine (unloaded).

H3) No varmint, target, tactical, or "competition" rifles may be used. This includes have target barrels.

H4) Any scope is allowed however no dialling for elevation or windage is allowed. No adjusting the parallax is allowed.

H5) The only shooting gear allowed is a bipod or a day pack as a replacement to a bipod, a normal 2-point carry-type sling, and a simple small rear bag that dose not attach to the rifle(no larger than 15cm). Any bipod is allowed.

H6) No competition orientated support bags (i.e. gamechangers, puff pillows, bags that attach to the rifle, etc.) or tripods are allowed. No Tactical chest rigs or magazine holsters are allowed.

H7) Match Director has the final say on all interpretations. If you have any questions, then ask the Match Director. Rule H1 and H7 govern.

Targets will be from 10-100 meters and time limits will be a little more forgiving in this class.

Rifleman class rifle and equipment rules:

R1) Any rifle of any weight with any sight shall be allowed. Muzzle breaks and suppressors are allowed.

R2) Any scope is allowed. Any bipod is allowed.

R3) Any support equipment is allowed including competition specific support bags of any size. Tripods are allowed but it will not be essential that you have one. There will be stage specific limits on equipment.

Targets distances for Rifleman’s Class will be from 10-200 meters but distances will vary between the four venues.
